Executive Director
Aka Hemmings - Aka Hemmings is the co-founder and Executive Director of Project Pure Light.  He is a lifelong water man, having been involved in water sports his entire life.  His dedication to the sport of Hawaiian outrigger canoe paddling and his desire to improve the lives of others inspired him to start the Project Pure Light program.  In addition to running the program, he coaches Pure Light Racing, the competitive crew of adaptive paddlers who have competed around the world.  In addition, he conducts and teaches steering clinics to canoe clubs around the State.
